Gingham Style

Not gonna lie when I first heard the name Gingham all I could think was the lyrics to "Gangham Style" in my head! Nope, just to clear up any misconception these are not the same thing. Gingham material which is what this dress is constructed of means "striped." Although, the original meaning had to do with the yarn being dyed before it is woven. This dress is very comfortable! Not restricting in any way. I love how light the Gingham fabric is and how easily it moves. Perfect for those Carrie Bradshaw moments where you're running down 5th avenue in heels! That happens right?! J.Crew is killing it right now with their spring look-book. I saw this dress online; I loved the midi length along with the stripes! I think it's important as a woman/fashionista to understand your body type, embrace it, love it and dress it the way it looks best! For me because I have curvy legs I prefer a midi length. This length (besides being super classy, which I love) is flattering and the bow belt hugs me perfectly in the waist!

I paired this adorable dress with hot pink earrings from Francesca's to make the blue stripes pop! I also gave it a retro flare bringing it back down to earth with some strappy brown wedges from Guess. These Guess wedges are super cute on! I remember seeing them in the store questioning them but once I tried them on they really looked so trendy and cute! When in doubt try them on! You never know...maybe you might surprise yourself with what you would wear! I bought Van's recently, so trust me, I'm a whole new woman.
