My Must-Have Makeup Essentials

DSC_2955.jpg

Let me tell you how excited to be doing my first makeup post! I'm thrilled to share my makeup secrets/items I use on a DAILY basis with all of you! I want to preface this post by saying that I'm not a makeup artist or a makeup expert by any means. I'm just a regular girlie girl who enjoys a natural makeup look or a dolled up one. I like both! And trust me when I say I'm not one of those girls who can't go to Starbucks or the drive through without makeup. Sorry for the people at Starbucks but I've gone with eye-makep on from the night before and I could care less! I also don't watch a ton of youtube tutorials on how to do makeup, I just have a steady hand so in my opinion after I apply my makeup it looks pretty darn good! Pictured above are some of my personal favorite makeup tools/palettes. I use these literally everyday and I'm a creature of habit; I love them so I will restock them but these products last me, I've used some of these for over a year! Below you'll find a description of each these items as well as a link to shop them! I've also listed a few extra key items to keeping my skin clear and moist!

Naked Palette 3

-The Naked Palette 3 is for the more natural/soft everyday look for your eyes. I love the glittery light pinks and towards the end of the palette are soft brownish/purples which look great on brunettes. Neutrals like beige and cream look great with these pretty pinks! I also own the first Naked Palette; it's full of browns and gold's for a natural smokey look.

Nars Audacious Lipstick-"Natalie"

-This Nars lipstick is a beautiful hot coral color perfect for fall and winter seasons. It was my first purchase for a lipstick over $25 and I have no regrets. It's gorgeous on! It's bright yet sexy and I love pairing it with a leather jacket or a statement outfit.

Miss Dior "Absolutely Blooming"

-For my wedding anniversary this year my husband bought Miss Dior "Absolutely Blooming" and he did good ladies! If you love the scent of vanilla like I do then you will adore this one. It's sweet with scents of vanilla and flowers. It's on the pricer side (over $100) so I only use it for special occasions but it's so worth owning a nicer quality perfume for those special occasions.

They're Real! The mascara I live by...

Ladies, I can't tell you how addicted and loyal I am to this mascara. When I wanted to upgrade from your regular drugstore mascara I went to Sephora and knew I didn't want to break the bank. This mascara gives my lashes so much length and volume and it's only $24 which is a price I can get behind. It lasts too! One tube last me around 3-4 months! Tip: I even use it on my eyebrows sometimes for a thicker brow when I'm in a hurry!

Urban Decay Illuminating Trio

Urban Decay no longer sells the trio highlighting set you see here but they do sell these same colors separately; see them here! Check out this other comparable trio set by Anastasia here. I personally don't like my makeup to look caked on so I like to keep it light yet have it still highlight my cheekbones. I put the darker left color and the middle one on my cheekbones and then the light coral pink to my rounded cheeks.

Origins Moisturizer

I've been using Origins for over a year now. It's light and not too heavy or creamy. My skin tends to be on the drier side so I need something that's not too watery but I don't want it feel like it's weighing down my skin. This moisturizer has helped me clear up some of my acne too which is a big plus! I wear it as a night moisturizer.

Neutrogena Healthy Defense

This is my favorite drugstore purchase! I love Neutrogena products and this daily moisturizer is great for daily use underneath your makeup. It has a high SPF which is important. I'm all for avoiding sun spots and protecting my skin at a young age. Something my mom instilled in me early on!
